FINAL THOUGHTS ON NEW ORLEANS AND MANIA XXX- First, our good old friend Jeremy Huckeba showed up yesterday and joined us for WrestleMania XXX and the final day, night, and morning for our adventure. Great to see him again. As far as Mania goes..... I received a slew of messages last night that largely went unresponded to by me. I, like everyone else, sat in the Superdome shocked, speechless, and completely silent at the shocking end to the Undertakers streak. My belief is that we just saw Takers last match and from talking with other fans on Bourbon Street last night, the feeling is universal. Match of the night for me was the opening match of the night, ironically. Usos, Real Americans, Rybaxel, and Los Matadores put on a spectacle. I was on the fence about Daniel Bryan and the YES! Movement, but after this weekend, I am on board. No WWE Superstar has been this over since the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Daniel Bryan has captivated the masses. Despite the huge party that was happening all weekend long here, New Orleans (like every city) has a dark underbelly that isnt very hard to find- its easier to find than any other place Ive ever been. I dont want to get all emotional right now, but my heart breaks for the gutter punks and homeless people and animals that are everywhere. On the same block that Id see the biggest celebrities in wrestling history walking down the street, Id also see a person who is completely destitute. Living in a peaceful and idyllic place like Basehor, KS can make a person forget that this is reality for many people in the US and the world. Perhaps Ill return to this topic at another time. As it stands, Im getting ready to board my shuttle back to the airport. Its been A WEEKEND, but Im ready to see my queen, my son, and my little doggies again very soon. We are already taking non-refundable $200 deposits for next years college reunion which will be happening in San Francisco and Santa Clara, California. If you want in, let me know.
