FINANCIAL institution BancABC Bank have disbursed US$120 000 to be shared equally among the clubs that finished in the top eight in the 2011 season. BY MICHAEL MADYIRA The BancABC Sup8r Cup could not be accommodated by a congested Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) fixture programme last season and failed to take place. A sum of US$15 000 was deposited in the respective bank accounts of Dynamos, FC Platinum, Motor Action, Hwange, Gunners, CAPS United, Highlanders and Chicken Inn on Friday. Gunners were relegated last season and are now plying their trade in the Northern Region Division One League. PSL chief executive officer Kenny Ndebele confirmed the development in a memo addressed to the league chairman Twine Phiri, executive committee members and BancABC. “This serves to advise that we have received a sum of US$120 000 for the eight Clubs that qualified to participate in the 2012 BancABC Sup8r Cup from BancABC Bank,” read the memo. “A sum of US$15 000 less management costs, has been transferred into the respective clubs bank accounts. We would like to thank BancABC Bank for this gesture. We are certain the grants will go a long way in meeting some of your financial commitments.”
