FINNISH PREMIER WILL QUIT AMONG SPECULATIONS. Finnish Premier will quit among opposition critisism of a bankrupt state, growing disapproval with his strong EU-oriented policy and his heavy Nato-flirting in the Ukrainan crisis. Finland is not in NATO but has 1340 km border with Russia, which is the biggest trade partner for Finland. Finnish Prime Minister Mr. Jyrki Katainen, 42, announced surprisingly on Saturday that he will double-quit in June as Premier and Party Leader for National Coalition Party. Finland is, like neighbour Sweden, not a Nato-member, but it is precisely Katainen and his party who has been strongly driving Finland towards Nato, even if about 70 % of the Finns disapprove Nato-membership. For this Katainen has been harshly critisized. Additionally, the Ukrainan crisis and EU-sanctions might ruin even more the Finnish economy, because Russia is the biggest trade partner of Finland. Katainens Party fellow and Foreign Trade Minister Alexander Stubb has been slammed in the public for his refusal to meet his Russian colleague. Long-time ex-minister Mr. Paavo Väyrynen from the other opposition Center Party says that this refusal does not serve the interests of Finland. Finland is an EU-member with euro-currency The opposition says that Katainen has been bankrupting the Finnish economy through EU, especially voiced by Mr. Timo Soini from True Finns Party. Finland is expected in 2014 to have the highest total tax rate or 58 % of GDP of all 28 EU countries. Simultaneously, the State debt and lending has been rocketing high up. bloomberg/news/2014-04-05/finland-s-katainen-to-resign-in-bid-to-get-top-international-job.html
