FIRE INCIDENT UPDATE FOR GOV JOEY As of 8:25 PM after a telephone conversation with Bgy Captain Bilano of Manaet, Cagraray Bacacay Albay, and Mayor Daep of Manito, Mayor Aguas and other informants, the following are the update reports: Cagraray fire It is continuously creeping closer to the Barangays Manaet and Tanagan. It is also observed to keep going with its big flames covering the timberlands. The river system is not a buffer to protect the population. They are ready and assured of protecting the population. If ever they will just transfer to nearby safe residences within the area, no need to evacuate in the main land. They organized themselves within the barangay and agreed to establish fire line tomorrow morning. Bgy Capt Bilono will keep in touch with APSEMO, they are on 24-hour monitoring and in action. He is asking for support for consumption of those participating in the bayanihan works tomorrow and some support for the families who cant work for their living being affected by fire situation. Manito Fire For now, the course of fire has been observed moving towards the forest. It is considered forest fire. Planted trees along Cayabon Mountain are the area of devastation right now while it is moving closer to EDC. The flame is big as it swallow the big trees. EDC prepositioned 1 fire truck as contingency. No population is threatened as fire moves far from the residential zones. Fire distance is now about 200 meters to the perimeter fence of EDC admin complex Tiwi Fire According to Mayor Templado, there were four spots of forest fires observed for the past 24 hours but they just dissipated. No life threatening fire for now. Lidong Sto Domingo Fire For now, the fire is becoming smaller. There is no threat to life and not alarming. Recommendations: For PSWDO to provide food-for-work assistance to Bgy Manaet need tomorrow during the bayanihan for preparing their fire line in the upper slope to protect their properties and houses. For the LGU to mobilize the community in making their fire lines. PNP to maintain security. BFP and DENR to maintain ground staff to assess and evaluate the situations in all areas affected by fire incidents and supervise the making of fire lines.
