FIRST NATIONAL BANK RISK MANAGER First National Bank of Lesotho Limited (FNBL), a highly recognised financial services provider in Lesotho seeks to employ a proactive, innovative, self driven and highly motivated Mosotho to occupy the position of Risk Manager. The position is based in Maseru but requires travelling in and outside the country. Job Purpose Work hand in hand with Head of Risk in implementing Risk Methodologies and associated tools. Summary of job description Under the direct supervision of Head of Risk, successful candidate will carry out the following duties; • Facilitation of the workshops required to implement new risk methodologies as required by Basel II, inter alia, Key Risk Indicators, Risk Control Self Assessment, Risk Scenarios workshops and any other new methodologies introduced by FRBG. • Ensuring that monthly and quarterly risk self assessments and other risk management tools are implemented by all business units. • Analyse the Basel II requirements and implement processes to achieve the necessary compliance. • Implementation of new compliance requirements and monitoring thereof. • Customisation of FRBG Risk Methodologies for communication and implementation. • Embed the applicable tools including embedding of trend analysis. • Identify methods to streamline the reporting process including ongoing validation of different risk management reports and follow up on outstanding action items. • Monitor the adequacy and efficiency of the risk processes and guide business units’ management where appropriate on risk management processes, procedures and best practices. • Assess, analyse and recommend the Golden Rules Processes including conducting of Risk assessment of projects, initiatives and system changes. • Documentation of all processes within Operational Risk Management. • Provision of trend analysis to the Forensic and Fraud Specialist for implementation. • Identification of risks in new projects and initiatives. • Evaluate the logic (sense check) of BCP and DRP. • Ensure that BCPs are continually updated for Branches and Support Centre. This includes the Pandemic Plans. • Ensure that the relevant relocation and revamp branches are monitored for BCP and DRP. • Co-ordination of Disaster Recovery Tests through process simulation and technical tests. • Provide and report on any BCM matters to relevant committees and forums. • Ensure that evidence of ORM, as required in terms of Basel (II) is retained and provided to • Internal and External Audit and the applicable regulator. (This includes the relevant documentary files and maintenance of website). • Monitoring of non- compliance in terms of risk management processes. . • Collation of Risk and Compliance Committee packs and CEO Reports. Qualifications and Experience • Relevant B Degree – e. g BCOMM /B Tech (Risk Management) • General Accountant or equivalent • Advantageous – Certificate in Risk Management • Advantageous – CIA • 3-5 years Branch Banking experience • 3-5 internal/external audit experience • Advantageous – 3-5 years Risk Management experience specifically pertaining to operational risk. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
