"FIVE EASY PIECES" monologue solved. (Blog 06/18/13) American actors, please take note. :) youtu.be/feMRZiEtvgo Bravo, Steven. You nailed it. Proud of you. He’s taking his time to REACT to the partner IN BETWEEN the ideas. This is where the new information comes that allows the reaction that creates the new rhythm. This means that the switches are coming naturally from the partner now — nothing is forced. All of Steven’s on camera work is paying off for him — there isn’t any camera technique distracting him from reacting to the partner. His eyeline is second-nature to him now. He’s also been working on his voice to get ideas to flow to the end of the ideas. I asked Steven how else he rehearsed to achieve his results. He said, “I don’t know really. I do it like this when camera is off, and finally i have got relaxed, i hope i’ll be relaxed for next ones I forget totally about camera, and then images come much faster. I really had to try to stop emotions.” Steven’s performance is a great demonstration that “emotions” are not the goal of acting.
