FIVE INJURED IN CAR, BIKE ROLLOVER ON OLD PACIFIC HWY A 49-year-old woman was airlifted to Sydney’s Westmead Hospital tonight with multiple injuries after an incident involved a car and motorbike on the Old Pacific Highway north of Sydney. The woman was a passenger in a late model BMW coupe which rolled about 1km south of Brooklyn Bridge. A motorcycle rider and pillion passenger then came to grief trying to avoid the overturned car. The CareFlight rapid response trauma team were called in at 6.09 pm landing about 21 minutes later adjacent to the scene on the Old Pacific Highway helipad where police, NSW Ambulance and a Cowan Rural Fire Service crew were in attendance. The woman suffered a serious hand injury as well as possible chest and abdominal injuries. She was treated at the scene by the CareFlight doctor and paramedic before being placed in the helicopter for the flight to Westmead. The driver and another passenger were treated by lacerations and minor injuries while both the rider and pillion passenger were treated to abrasions and bruises.
