FIVE THINGS WE LEARNT FROM CHELSEAS WIN AGAINST SWANSEA: 1) Mourinhos Chelsea will concede many goals this season Chelsea had the best defensive record in the Premier League last season because of Mourinho’s safety-first approach. This season, they now leave only Nemanja Matic protecting the central defenders instead of two holding midfielders protecting a back four. John Terry and Matic are excellent players but they ar not very quick. five goals conceded in d last two games are just testament to the fact that Chelsea will be more vulnerable to counter attacks. 2) Andre Schurrle Has to Improve or he risks losing his shirt Schurrle had a disappointing defensive performance as he kept losing Neil Taylor when Swansea attacked. That gave Swansea an outlet down their left flank until Schurrle was taken off at half-time. Oscar completed the game as the right attacking midfielder, where he tracked back with Taylor much better. Mourinho is renowned for his displeasure at wingers who do not track back well so Schurrle cannot afford another defensive performance like this if he is to keep his place from Ramires, Mohamed Salah and Willian. 3) Diego Costa is the Favourite For Golden Boot seven goals scored in 4 matches is the form you can expect only from Ronaldo and Messi. Even Mourinho (after the Swansea match) had to say that Costas form is not sustainable...he has scored too many goals already and at this rate, the Euxropean Golden Boot Award is a realistic target for him... 4) Fabregas is Fabulous apart from Messi, he was Barcas top assist maker from last season and he has continued the form...six assists in four games is too much especially when you remember that Eden had only 7 assists, and Oscar 5 assists the whole of last seaon. Fabregas and Costas Chelsea combination is something for Bel Bosque to think about in his Spain team. 5) Ramires is Staking a Serious Claim to get back into the first Eleven he had a thunderous game against Everton (scoring a goal) and immediately he was introduced against Swansea, Chelsea started pressing well and regained possession and territory. Ramires is not a good passer of the ball but he can mark, run, tackle, and occasionally, he can score. He brings greater balance to the team and Mourinho will surely be thinking of how to give him more starts in the Chelsea side. What do you think?
