FK Guards Dozing on the Job Caught on Film by Former Supervisor Monday, 10 Jun 2013 04:07 PM By Morgan Chilson Share: More . . . A ex security head for FJC Security, which employs more than 300 guards at the airport, has made allegations that he regularly found guards sleeping on the job. Urgent: Is Obama Telling the Truth on IRS, Benghazi Scandals? Stephen Jackson, a former Marine, told the New York Post he was fired from FJC Security after a “campaign of harassment” for everything from whistleblowing to being Hispanic. He said he was fired on a technicality, after letting a worker without proper identification into an area, even though a supervisor told him to. Jackson took cellphone video and photos of three sleeping guards. But he said his company managers complained when he showed them the images. It was apparently more work for managers to fire someone and then go through a hiring process than to just have Jackson wake up the guards and give them warnings. One man, whom Jackson caught napping twice, was at a remote post. In a video posted by the New York Post, Jackson is shown honking his horn to wake up the sleeping guard. Since Jackson spoke out, the Port Authority banned the three guards found sleeping from working at its facilities. JFK Airport has been the focus of at least one terror plot, which occurred in 2007. A Shiite Muslim leader was sentenced to life in prison in January 2012 for conspiring to attack the airport. A spokeswoman for the Port Authority suggested in the New York Post article that how FJC Security dealt with the dozing guards could affect the way security contracts are awarded. FJC Security bills itself on a website as a “security leader in multiple industries.” The website states FJC is the "leading and trusted security provider at three of the world’s busiest and high profile airports: New York’s JFK International Airport, New York’s LaGuardia Airport and New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport."
