***FLASH GIVEAWAY*** Happy Monday! I havent given an update in a bit so thought Id bring you all up to speed. Some of you might have noticed that I havent been commenting much the last few days. Thats because I took a much needed break. Big huge thanks to my assistant @Judie Bouldry for managing everything while I was away. After writing three full length books and a novella so far this year (TWISTED makes full book #3), I was in serious burn out mode. If youre not a writer this might be hard to understand, but when you jump from project to project without a break, its often difficult to keep the creative well full. I dont think I even realized how much I needed to step away from the computer until I was gone. Its been way too long since I took a writing break. This was the first vacation Ive taken in years where I didnt even bring my laptop. That said...I want to thank all of you for being patient with me. I know youre waiting for TWISTED, and Im here to assure you that the book is finished and that Im halfway through edits. I had grand plans to finish the edits before I left on vacation, but that just didnt happen because the book ended up being longer than expected. I dont care about length. I care about story. So instead of forcing it by rushing, I decided to step back and let that creative well replenish before finishing the edits. Quality is way more important to me than speed, and I hope you all understand and appreciate that fact. So, what does this mean for the release of TWISTED? It means Ill be finishing edits on the book this week, then it will go to my editor, then formatter, and then it will get to you. At this point, were probably looking at a mid-Sept release. (Technically, thats still summer. Fall doesnt officially begin until Sept 21, but Im hoping itll be in your hands before then.) I will definitely keep you updated now that Im back. This week is a little crazy for me. Ive got kids to prep for the start of school next week, a husband whos having shoulder surgery tomorrow, copy edits to finish on LETHAL CONSEQUENCES (Aegis Book #2) and edits on TWISTED to get done. The vacation high is definitely gone, but I can say for certain that Im in a much better creative place than I was before I left.
