FOLLOW UP: I would just like to humbly add to the rant by saying how shocked I was to receive so many phone calls and texts yesterday from friends that were in complete agreement and shared a sense of bewilderment when figuring out the best approach to dealing with these topics with our teens (cyber crazies)! I also want to say that I LOVE my daughters and am very proud of them for many reasons everyday. Both of them have stood up for causes in social settings that Im thankful for and Im most grateful that they are so open with me about their lives. In no way was my expression about an ongoing issue in our lives and yours an attempt to embarrass them but an opportunity to share an example of real teenage household situations, which our FB family rarely is willing to address. Its not always about fancy dance dresses, school awards, making the cheer team, getting a new car, buying expensive shoes for your teenage daughter, hitting home-runs, or traveling the world--whichever is your typical status post... Sometimes we use FB to make ourselves look like we are just a fantastic little family (me included) and on most days, we are....however, lets face it, raising teenagers is a difficult....(big smile)... yet rewarding endeavor. God entrusted these two souls to me and Scott Dickey because we were the best parents to raise them. ...Thank you for your warm, supportive, and encouraging thoughts about the way I chose to be candid and transparent with you...
