FOOD CRAFT INSTITUE JAMMU ORGANIZES COOKING COMPETITION In order to bring out the hidden talent amongst the students of Jammu, Food Craft Institute Jammu is organizing first of its kind a cooking competition of different categories of students so to bring out their hidden creative talent. Nowadays lot many students have an interest in culinary skills with a passion and are preparing themselves for competing at National and International platform. The first of its kind competition would give an opportunity to students bring out their best creative talent to be judged by a panel of experts so that they are recognized, acknowledged and motivated to enhance their creativity in a much bigger way and at a much larger platform. The Principal of the Institute Mr. Jyoti Bhatti informed that the Institute is engaged in imparting quality skilled education to the youths of the region in various trades of Hotel and Hospitality to make them employable in the respective areas. The Principal is of the view that we have amazing and resilient culinary students who are poised to be “Junior Master Chef” who are filled with a wonderful passion for cooking. They possess the drive and purpose to change the way our localities, families, surroundings view healthy cooking. Two categories of competition have been designed keeping in view the age groups. · Students from 6th to 8th standard · Students from 9th to 12th Standard It is an open competition. For students from 6th to 8th standard, there will be non-fire cooking in which contestants will prepare salads/desserts of their own choice from the hampers given by Food Craft Institute. Assistance in cutting, chopping, peeling if needed will be provided by the staff of Food Craft Institute. For students from 9th to 12th standard, initial round will consist of a large number of contestants who will present one main course vegetarian dish prepared by themselves on their own before the judges. The shortlisted contestants will perform on 13th Dec.2014 at Food Craft Institute Jammu. These shortlisted contestants will then compete in several challenges which will test their knowledge and preparation skills. Many guests are expected to witness this Mega Scale Cooking Competition which Food Craft Institute Jammu is organizing for the very First time in which students of different age groups, different schools will showcase their culinary skills to compete. The experts from Hotel Industry will be the Judges of this competition and Food Craft Institute Jammu will present the certificates to participants and trophies to the Winners on the same day.
