FOOD, FOOD, EVERYWHERE! This is my pre- تهنئة عيد post. I dont like to post Negativity and I try to give a humorous twist to any criticism. So this is a sort of ONLY IN EGYPT anecdote about an Egyptian custom to want to EAT throughout the day, any time, any place, AND before any work gets done! And this is a a quote I came across which sums it all up: First we Eat...... Then we Do Everything Else I have to say we are very lucky in our Association to have good relations with the authorities. لدينا علقات طيبة مع المسؤولين . We link between them and the public at large. الجمعية همزة الوصل بين الأهالي والمسؤولين . These days we are redoubling are efforts to rid our streets of the ever increasing number of street food vendors. العدد المتزايد من الباعة الجائلين . But what do you do when having finally managed to remove the man who sells Foul just outside, practically inside, the doors of an important Ministry, the employees protest?!! This man who has set up camp, half on the sidewalk, and half in the street, throwing his leftovers and littering the place has become indispensable to the people working there. We really need him, they said, he serves us well, and comes right up to us in our offices any time we want!
