FOOD FOR THOUGHT- MR Bimbo Roberts Folayan - The Chairman of the Central Association of Nigerians in The Uk wrote: Does this country (UK) have a NIGERIAN PROBLEM? Ebola virus has been in several countries for several years and have killed hundreds of people in Zaire, Liberia and other places. However, since an AMERICAN man travelled from LIBERIA and died in Lagos, Sky News, The Mail and other news media have continued to identify Ebola with Nigeria and to use the word Nigeria every time the Ebola topic is discussed. In fact, just this morning, the UK border staff now feel concerned about passengers coming from Nigeria as reported on Sky ! Meanwhile, not a single Nigerian has died of the virus. In contrast at least 2 Americans have died and I dont hear the word AMERICA in the news media each time we talk about the virus! Why is the name Nigeria always amplified with everything negative. Lets be honest guys, are there things we do that attract antagonism? I CAN bear the pains but cannot allow my children and our youths to be tainted! Am I being unnecessarily too sensitive?
