FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: April 23, 2014 Release Authority: Commander Geoff Huff Ames Police Make Prostitution Arrests As a part of an undercover operation involving the Ames Police Department, Central Iowa Drug Task Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Story County Attorney’s Office, the following individuals were arrested for prostitution: Mohammed Ali Rashed Musabbeh Aldhaheri, of Ames, age 20 David Oliver Merritt, of Ames, age 56 Jason Prouty, of Ogden, age 32 Hua Huang, of Ames, age 24 The crime of prostitution is an aggravated misdemeanor. All four individuals were arrested on April 22nd and transported the Story County Jail. The operation focused on identifying instances of human trafficking and prostitution. A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
