FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Quilter Labs is Proud to Sponsor The 1st Annual Howard Roberts Celebrity Guitar Summit to Kickoff the 2015 NAMM Show The First Annual Howard Roberts Celebrity Guitar Summit will kickoff the 2015 NAMM Show in Los Angeles on January 22nd at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel Celebrity Ballroom at 7:00 p.m. This star-studded event will officially celebrate the release of The Howard Roberts Project CD, which features the great session artists H.R. played with throughout his decades in Hollywood. Quilter Amplifiers, together with Gibson Guitars, C2 Imaging, Mackie Audio, Ampeg, Yamaha and Zildjian will also sponsor a silent auction benefiting music education. Proceeds will directly support the Howard Roberts Scholarship Fund. After more than two years of recording & research, the story of Howard Roberts, the late jazz guitarist, recording industry icon and master of modern guitar education will be available on DVD and on-line. Roberts’ son, Jay, director of the event has documented his father’s extraordinary and influential career in numerous interviews with the guitarist’s colleagues, close friends, family and industry peers, more than thirty of whom will gather for the celebration. The corresponding CD “The Originals’ features Howard’s own peers playing H.R compositions and arrangements. Roberts says, “We’re ecstatic that The Guitar Summit concert will comprise many of the Studio industry’s greatest musicians paying tribute to my dad.” Performers include Ernie Watts, Russell Ferrante, Chuck Berghofer, Carol Kaye, Ralph Humphrey, Howard Alden, Mitch Holder, Tim May, Mike Anthony and numerous other surprise guests. The evening culminates with an instrument auction, and THE BIG NOW Jam Session featuring surprise Artists and Howard Roberts scholarship recipients. Tickets in the form of donations will be available at the door and online at the H.R. Project Website: howardrobertsproject. Ticket holders will receive the Tribute CD with their donation. His list of television, film and recording credits was virtually limitless. A short list of the television shows Roberts created music for include The Twilight Zone, Green Acres, The Munsters, The Andy Griffith Show and Batman. He also recorded with The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, The Monkees, Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughn and many more. And just a few of his film credits include The Sandpiper, Cool Hand Luke, Dirty Harry and Camelot. Moreover, the tribute will pay homage to the Hollywood studio era of the 1950s, 60s and 70s and chronicle that scene right up to the present day. More important it will showcase many of the groundbreaking educational, innovative and ingenious teaching techniques Roberts employed at his avant-garde Guitar Institute of Technology.
