FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 10, 2014 (Fishers, Indiana) On September 6, 2014 at approximately 3:10am Fishers Police Officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 12900 block of Rocky Point Road (Olio Rd and 104th Street). The caller advised after their house alarm went off, a male was seen running away from the garage. Several patrol officers quickly responded to the scene. The first suspect, Kaleb Ray McElroy, was taken into custody by police a short distance from the residence. The second suspect, Derek Hampton, was located by another officer in the area. Derek was driving a white 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer at the time. The suspects were detained and transported to the Fishers Police Department. The suspect’s vehicle was transported to Fishers Police Department and processed by Evidence Technicians. During the processing of the suspect’s vehicle, several stolen electronic items were located inside. Many of the stolen items had been stolen from vehicles parked in the area and were returned to six separate victims. The suspects were arrested and transported to The Hamilton County Jail. Arrested #1: Kaleb Ray McElroy. 22 years old Westfield, Indiana Charges: Residential Burglary “B” Felony Burglary “C” Felony Held: Hamilton County Jail Arrested #2: Derek Hampton 26 years old Noblesville, Indiana Charges: Residential Burglary “B” Felony Burglary “C” Felony Held: Hamilton County Jail A charge is merely an accusation and the arrested person(s) is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
