FOR SALE: 2006 (8 years) 15 h grade palomino paint mare. Weatherford, TX. Unfortunately up for sale, Misty, has been my personal riding horse for the past 4 years. I purchased her as a barrel and play day horse. She has an automatic lead change on the pattern and is for the most part auto on the pattern. She does need help lifting her left shoulder around the second barrel if the rider does not run her all the way past (when starting on the right barrel). Can go left or right on the pattern. I have raced her bareback and with a halter both at home and at a benefit barrel race with no issue. She is also auto on poles, and LOVES them. Since then, I have also schooled her in training level dressage and popped her over a few small jumps. She trail rides like a dream, only hiccup is she does not like water. She will go through with a confident rider, just not on her own free will . Can be ridden alone or in a group. I personally think she would be a cute dressage mount for a young rider. Can be ridden English, western, bareback, or in a halter and is currently ridden in a moderately twisted dog bone snaffle. Recently she was put to pasture for 4 months to no fault of her own (I was too busy with work to ride). I pulled her out of the pasture and hopped on and rode and went on a trail ride with not one issue. She stays fat on air; in the summer or in light riding program I do not feed her any grain, only hay in the morning and night and turn out during the day. If being ridden heavily or in the winter I keep her on ¾ of a scoop of a 12% twice a day. Once she figures out that you are her person, she will do anything and everything for you. She comes running up to you in the pasture and nickers as soon as you drive up. Can be pasture or stall boarded. Hauls anywhere and is the same horse away as she is at home. UTD on farrier work, shots, teeth ect. Stands well for vet and farrier and loads like a dream. All of this being said, she does require some maintenance to be kept in a heavy riding program. Her hoof walls and soles are very sensitive. To be kept riding sound (for riding more than once or twice a week) in her feet I keep her shod all the way around. She does have some soreness in her hips and hocks as a result of being long backed and ridden too heavily in her younger years before I purchased her. She has been injected in her hocks 2 years ago, but did not prove to be the best option for her in the long term. Recently, I have had her on a shot of Legend or polyglycan about every 6-8 weeks. Since I started her on those shots she has been the most sound I’ve seen her since I bought her in 2010. I do believe that eventually the shots will be on a necessity basis, and not a required expense. I am not looking to sell quickly, I will be picky about the home she goes to! Not wanting to sell, would keep her if I had the funds to support 2 horses, but needing something I can ride and race consistently. Would be best for an intermediate rider. Asking $3000, obo. Please PM me for more information. I do have multiple videos and more pictures on request
