FOR THE ATTENTION OF HON. SECRETARIES/CLUB CAPTAINS/WINTER LEAGUE ORGANISERS WINTER LEAGUE 2013/2014 Now that the Summer Cups are almost completed, clubs are probably preparing to put together their Winter League teams. We wish to bring to your attention the following additions and changes: Events Following a series of cluster meetings with the clubs last winter and taking on board suggestions put forward at these meetings the Branch has introduced the following events on a trial basis for Winter League 2013/14: · Grade 3 ladies doubles – 4 ladies – format - 2 doubles followed by reverse doubles · Grade 3 men’s doubles – 4 men – format - 2 doubles followed by reverse doubles · Grade 3 mixed doubles – 2 ladies + 2 men – Format – 1 ladies’ doubles, 1 men’s doubles followed by 2 mixed doubles · Grade 6 ladies doubles – 4 ladies – format - 2 doubles followed by reverse doubles · Grade 6 men’s doubles – 4 men – format - 2 doubles followed by reverse doubles · Grade 6 mixed doubles – 2 ladies + 2 men – Format – 1 ladies’ doubles, 1 men’s doubles followed by 2 mixed doubles MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIRED FOR EACH OF THE ABOVE EVENTS IS 8 TEAMS. Return of results Every player must have his/her Tennis Ireland PIN on the result sheet. All results must be submitted on-line – no paper copies will be accepted. Results will be returned by the Winter League Results Contact person appointed by the club. Clubs will be asked for the following contacts on the entry form: 1 (one) Winter League Results Contact person per CLUB who will be responsible for returning all results for all grades. This person should have a Tennis Ireland PIN and should be reasonably comfortable with computers. Team captain/contact who will be the contact person for arranging the fixtures – 1 team contact per team entered if possible. The winning team captain will complete the result sheet as normal (or home captain in the event of a draw) and give this result sheet to the Winter League Result Contact person appointed by the club.
