FOSTER NEEDED for super sweet happy boy from last night. He was picked up after standing vigil over his deceased buddys body all day long. No one stopped for him. A kind stranger took him in, fed him, and kept him safe. Today she brought him by Petsmart so we could meet him and get pictures. He is amazingly resilient. A happy sweet grin. He just wants to be loved, and be safe and secure. He is great with people, loved everbody, and non-reactive to the other dogs at the adoption event. He is not as large as he looks in the pictures, probably only 20-25 lbs? He has a curly tail like a Shiba Inu, looks a lot like he might be a Shiba Inu in his face and tail. He is a dark chocolate brown, and as sweet as can be. We already know what a loyal dog he is as he cried over his best friend. A witness reported seeing the two run around for a couple of weeks before that in the area. He is not microchipped. AFC would like to get him into a vet asap, get him checked over and get him started on vaccinations. He is favoring his front paw. With a committed foster we can assume responsibility for his medcal care, but we cant help him without a committed foster who will keep him safe inside their home (no kennels in the garage please). His rescuer lives in an apartment. Such a nice dog, slept in the childrens bed last night. He sure looked so happy today after having a warm bed and 3 bowls of food last night! After being on his own for awhile, the trauma of losing his best friend and brother, AFC would sure like to give him a happily ever after. Coming into the AFC family means full medical for this kid, and AFCs commitment to finding him an awesome family. The foster commitment can be 1 month, 2 months, or longer. We cant predict how long it can be till someone falls in love. But need someone to pledge to keep him safe until his medical is completed and he gets adopted. If anyone knows of another rescue who will take him, please feel free to share. He is not yet an AFC doggy. He is such a nice boy, we sure would love to help him.
