FOUNDATION DUPA DONATES Dupa Foundation has donated goods worth P20 000 to 31 elderly and destitute residents of Thini ward in Tutume. The donated goods were 12.5kg sugar, rice, sorghum, flour, bag of potatoes and other necessities. They also donated four blankets to a family whose house was gutted by fire recently. Presenting the donation on Christmas eve, the director of the foundation, Mr Shingiso Oaitse said doing social responsibilities was part of their mandate. Mr Oaitse said through their foundation, they have managed to donate to various charity organisations and schools in the country. He said they found it necessary to donate to needy people as a way of showing love and to appreciate people of Thini ward for they had raised him to become what he is now. Furthermore, he thanked his colleagues for their cooperation and encouraged them to continue with the same spirit to achieve one of the pillars of Vision 2016, which is to have a loving and caring nation. For his part, Tutume West councilor, Mr Moseki Mathodi said the donation was a great step towards the realisation of the pillars of Vision 2016 of a compassionate and a caring nation. Cllr Mathodi said the foundation has done a commendable job, adding that they had set a good example to others. He further said the goods will assist the beneficiaries as it came at a good time when people were enjoying Christmas and the ushering in of the New Year. One of the beneficiaries, Ms Emang Obiditswe thanked Dupa Foundation for the good gesture. She said the donation had put smile on their faces, saying they are going to enjoy the festive season in a dignified manner. (BOPA)
