FOX TOPIX: How do you save money when buying school supplies? Hard to believe, but kids will be heading back to school very shortly … and they don’t just need folders, notebooks, and pencils anymore! A recent National Retail Federation survey shows the average family spends about $700 on school supplies; about $150 per child, up 5% from last year. The survey reveals the extra cash is going toward supply lists driven by the need for more and more electronics, such as calculators, tablets, and computer accessories needed for classes.
