FQ: My son is turning 1 tomorrow. Hes a very healthy big boy (already in 18 month clothing!). He eats great, drinks from a sippy, loves to sip from our cups. I do still nurse him though. Usually only in the early morning, at bedtime, and during the night to get him back to sleep. I need to find a different way to get him to sleep because Im ready to wean him off. I need my supply to start decreasing! I support the controlled crying method, as it used to work for him until he got sick during the winter. Since then, he wont go to sleep with anything BUT nursing with me. Today I resorted to a pacifier (which hes never taken this first year) after he downed a small sippy of warm milk. I want to avoid him needing the pacifier, but its the only other thing I can think of! If I let him just cry it out, he just stands up in his crib and raspberries the railing to keep himself awake. Since he doesnt actively suck the pacifier after he falls asleep, would I be risking him needing it if I used it every night? (I play lullaby music, sing, rub his belly, even stroke his hair....he always just sits up and starts crying. if I leave the room, he stands up to cry!) I welcome any suggestions!
