FREE TO FORGIVE We entreat you on behalf of CHRIST, be reconciled to GOD. 2 Corinthians 5 : 20 Im sorry, Bles. I am not yet ready to forgive , she told me. She was angry and hurt. I just silently prayed that one day, she would be able to forgive the persons who had hurt her. I knew she would because I myself harbored anger and bitterness towards a friend who hurt me in the past. Each day the heaviness bec- ame unbearable. I asked GOD to help me forgive. Although I didnt feel anything change, I prayed everyday until one day, I knew the forgiveness in my heart was real. Forgiveness is never easy. Sometimes, it feels downright imp- ossible in the light of the devastating pain one has suffered. But the LORD wants us to forgive [ Ephesians 4 : 32 ]. Christian author Stormie Omartian said, Forgiveness doesnt make the other person right, forgiveness makes us free. Not only does it set us free fr. the person we forgive, but it frees us to move into all GOD has for us. Forgiveness opens our heart and mind, and allows the HOLY SPIRIT to work freely in us. Dont allow unforgiveness to limit what GOD wants to do for you. Then you will be amazed at the blessings that forgive- ness unlocks in your life. ----- BLES
