FRIDAY 9th AUGUST, 2013 BE AN EXAMPLE TO OTHERS REV.DONNIE Let no one make little of you because you are young, but be an example to the church in word, in behaviour, in love, in faith, in holy living.1Timothy 4:12 (BBE) A lot of people desire to lead not realizing the pressure and demand placed on such responsibilities regardless of our experience or age we are not to give in and throw in the towel as a sign of defeat. A measure of grace has been bequeathed to us so we are expected to run the race with perseverance. Never forget that the leader takes the lead, what the leader does is what the followers will also do. If the leader walks in the part of error, the followers will also walk in the path way of error. We are therefore strongly advised not to take for granted our leadership role by making a great commitment to live as an example to others who will also lead others some day. You see, the chain of influence is so awesome. The implication too is that the lives of people are entrusted to us. If they die in their sin because of neglect of our priorities we are going to be held accountable by God. I have never seen a more awesome responsibility like that of a leader or a Christian. Our responsibilities are spread over these areas: Doctrine; we are required to teach nothing but the truth. Love: to demonstrate that the real motives for God’s actions as well as ours, a holy disposition it says in ‘spirit’ how we go about our service to the lord tells whether we are serving in love or from a haughty heart. In faith to keep safe what has been entrusted in our care and to hand over them when required. PRAYER OF DECLARATION Lord more than anything else, I desire to be an example to my world. Taking advantage of all the opportunities given to me to influence my world through leadership I will not fail, because failing in my assignment is a sign of incompetence on my part I will be exemplary to those around me. Halleluyah!
