FRIDAY FINGER !!! Well, one more doctor has been added to this drama. I went to the wound care center today. Dr. Roland said that the wound looked good considering what happened, the extent of infection, the way Dr. Clott split my finger open like a baked potato and the way I have been cleaning and bandaging it every day and administering 6 IV infusions every 24 hours. BTW......Walgreens Infusion center called earlier to tell me that my primary doc ordered MORE IVs for me to administer. (memo to self: choke my primary doctor when I see him Monday) Dr. Roland scraped/debrided my finger then changed the method of bandaging. He was pleased with the amount of granulation in the wound. Every other day I have to cut a piece of Promogran PRISMA which is a collagen pad. Over the 48 hours the PRISMA pad will dissolve into the wound. I am SO tired of this routine. I am getting about 4-6 hours of sleep in between each IV infusion. I am so damn exhausted.......but, there is light at the end of this long tunnel......isnt there??????
