FROM A MEMBER: I wanted to share with you a poem I wrote for a writing class: By Libys McGuinness, (16 yrs) Gifted with his father two left feet, a cheeky wide smile, his mothers Innocent eyes, and an extra chromosome, he was placed in his parents hands. This little man is a hotpot for; giggles, grins, superglue, naughty steps, tears, love and stress. His fathers pride when he stood up to the bullies, even when they were not his. His mothers joy when he had his first date, but still needed help with his buttons. The doctors doubts; limits, blood tests, measurements, gasps, shocks and lies. He will never have a normal life, never be good at everything, Excuse me doctor did you get the wrong room? Dont ever limit my child! But nothing ever faulted nor bothers this cheeky lil man, Hes to busy making friends and riding bicycles. Why is it called downs? Surely its more ups? By Libys McGuinness, (16 yrs)
