FROM FLIC Good morning FLIC members and friends, Here is a quick rundown on what happened yesterday. The House Bill (HB) 851 was taken up in the Senate and discussed yesterday. There were 2 amendments introduced by Senator Jack Latvala and John Legg. These amendments did not change the bill substantially. There were minor changes, which did not negatively impact the bill. It is moving forward and has been placed on the 3rd Reading Calendar for this morning. This is where the debate on the bill will occur and a final vote in the Senate will take place. Please be aware, there is one more final step. Given the fact that the bill was amended in the Senate, if it passes in the Senate floor today, it will be sent back over to the House. This means, the Florida House of Representatives will have to do a final vote on the bill before sending it to the Governors desk. The good news is that, if the vote on yesterdays amendments are any indication, there are currently 27 votes in the Senate, which is very exciting.
