ROCHAS OKOROCHA…. . A BAREFACED BLACKMAIL ON HON DAN IKPEAZU THE TRUTH SO FAR…… Our attention has been drawn to a news paper publication on page 1 of Announcer Express of 23rd July 2014 and white paper of same date page two over an impeachment onslaught on the office of the Honorable Speaker Benjamin Uwajumogu, his deputy Hon. Ozoemena Donatus and Governor Rochas Okorocha which the member representing Owerri North State constituency Hon. Daniel .C. Ikpeazu is Purportedly alleged to be championing the mission. Ordinarily, we would not have been perturbed in joining issues over a baseless and fallacious accusation but the barefaced lies in the said publication if not properly addressed, has the potency of misleading the reading public and is not just capable of creating tension but also unleashing mayhem and chaos in the polity which can as well breach public peace and harmony. For clarification purposes, we therefore wish to state as follows: 1. That Hon. Dan Ikpeazu could not be the helms man of this assumed move and meeting held at Umuahia during the said weekend of 19th & 20th July and another meeting fixed for Wednesday 23rd July 2014 while he was far away United States for World Owerri People’s Congress holding at Nashville Tennessee U.S.A even before the said weekend and this gives credence to the fact that the ploy is dead on arrival. 2. That Hon Dan Ikpeazu haven distinguished himself by proving that legislation now transcends making laws alone but also impacting and touching the lives of his constituents through his numerous empowerment & human developmental projects which endeared him to the heart of his constituents that gained him the acceptability by the people of Owerri Federal Constituency to run for house of representatives of Owerri Federal Constituency which necessitated the jittery in some quotas that metamorphosed into this cheap, callous, wicked, mischievous accusation and blackmail that is based on falsehood. To this end, it is not doubtful to say that the write up is an attempt by detractors and enemies of the society who are afraid of Hon. Dan Ikpeazus’ rising political credentials and have no other resort than to tarnish the good reputation, antecedents and pedigree of a distinguished legislature per excellence. It is therefore barbaric, wicked, callous and impish for these group of persons whose stock in trade in the present government is to curry undeserved favour to instigate such evil against a revered gentleman of great repute whose position in the house is well known as a member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and so far has declared his intention to contest for the house of representative of Owerri Federal Constituency and has been accepted by the generality of our people. We hereby state emphatically that well meaning Imo citizens, supporters and fans of Hon. Dan Ikpeazu will not take it kindly with the master-minders of this cruel, ugly and callous story emanating from a well known quarters whose identities are already known and has sworn to stop at nothing in tarnishing the image of Hon Dan Ikpeazu. We are also aware that this is one out of the many evil plans which they have lined up in other to destroy Hon. Ikpeazu’s rising political profile but unfortunately shut themselves on the leg. Furthermore, we wish to state that we cannot be cowed by such malicious, sacrilegious and cheap blackmail propagated by mischief makers who have only been a monumental disgrace to the society and Imo State in particular. In view of this, we therefore call for the retraction of the said publication within 72 hours of this publication. Enough is enough of such campaign of Calumny which aims at maligning the repute of a man of integrity whose bravery and courage has no rival. Signed: Comr.
