FROM THE DESK OF THE FAIRY ROCK MOTHER: Thanks to those that respected my request yesterday to do business with me through my email or my websites and not through FB messenger. It made for a much more productive day! I was able to address inquiries and submissions in a timely way and respond appropriately! Again, you can reach me regarding the label at kiki@star1group or the magazine at kplesha@ionindiemagazine. Neither of these are to be used for submissions, however. If youd like to have your music considered for either the magazine (ionindiemagazine), the label (star1records), or our satellite program Music 1 Network (music1net), go to those websites and youll find the process an easy one to follow. We give very concise instructions on what we need for the best possible result. Each day I prioritize and address the time sensitive items first. Where the magazine is concerned, we work on deadlines and I am hyper aware of incoming files that must be edited and layout designs done so the magazine is on time. Regarding the label, we are currently doing multiple signings, and it is VERY detail oriented and these artists deserve our undivided attention. Submissions to either entity are also a priority...it is a goal of mine to respond as promptly as possible. A note regarding magazine submissions, if we are interested in writing about you, doing an interview or review, someone from our staff will contact you. With thousands of submissions, it is a daunting task reviewing all of these inquiries. With the added partnership with ReverbNation, we are very busy in this department. As a side note, due to time constraints, I can no longer review music to give opinions and suggestions out of the context of the label or magazine. I receive many emails wanting me to review music just to get an opinion. I am flattered and used to be able to partake in this and respond with my impressions. While I obviously enjoy listening to music, its now what I do for a living. The fact of the matter is, that unless extra hours magically appear in my day, my schedule doesnt allow for this luxury anymore...sad, but true. It has been my goal and desire to assist Independent artists and provide them with avenues to get their music both read about and heard. I think I am doing that to the best of my ability. I wish it were possible to help everyone, but that is not reality. I can only work with one artist at a time. And whoever that may be, they deserve my focus. An artists music is their ESSENCE. And I dont take it for granted that I am entrusted with careers. It is a lot of responsibility. Thank you for those of you that support my endeavors and appreciate my hard work. I appreciate all of you!
