FROM THE NEWSROOM: After meeting with union representatives to get their input, the Putnam Board of Selectmen unanimously approved new operating hours for the town hall, which will take effect on July 7th. Selectman Scott Pempek says that the goal in mind when initially reworking the hours was easier accessibility for residents in need of town services. Pempek added that it seemed that the town hall was open predominantly when most people were at work, and that these new hours will hopefully fix that issue. A proposal to introduce a limited Saturday schedule was abandoned after a survey showed that extending the hours of operation on Thursdays was a more preferable option. Monday through Wednesday the town hall will be open from 8:30 am. - 4:30 p.m., 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, and open from 8 a.m. through1:00 in the afternoon on Friday. Tune in for the full report.
