FROM THE NEWSROOM: Another technical assistance grant – the fifth round through the Connecticut Main Street Center Preservation of Place Program – has been applied for by Putnam town officials, which would help analyze and compile design guidelines for the greater Downtown area. Putnam Economic and Community and Development Director Delpha Very says this analysis would include consulting services from architects, landscape and amenities designs, historic preservation of downtown buildings, and other tools for developers and property owners to assist with plans for facade buildings. Very says the focus of this Preservation of Places Grant would be on commercial buildings, and that the grant funding being sought would amount to $10,000. Tune in for the full report.
