FROM THE NEWSROOM: Authorities say two people were transported to an area hospital following an accident at the rest stop on I-395 southbound in Plainfield Friday. State Police have released an accident report that says the driver of a Ford Expedition, 36-year-old Mansfield resident Anthony Souza, exited the highway into the rest area and struck the rear of a parked vehicle early Friday morning. Souza and his passenger, 28-year-old James Davenport, were transported by ambulance to the Plainfield Backus emergency center for minor injuries. Police say that enforcement action related to the accident is pending. It does not appear that anyone else was injured in the accident.
