FROM THE NEWSROOM: C&M Corporation will officially relocate its world headquarters to Killingly by the end of March, 2015, according to Economic Development Director Elsie Bisset. The company, which makes specialty cables and wire for manufactures, will move from its current location in Plainfield to a 150,000 square foot leased facility at 349 Lake Road in Killinglys Industrial Park, a property that also houses Superwinch LLC. Bisset says that C&M will move 170 jobs to Killingly, and fill the last remaining open spot in the towns industrial park. “The specialize in assemblies and retractable coils, so theyre excited to work with local industries in supplying them with the products that they need,” said Bisset. The company has been in business for 50 years. Bisset says that the companys reason for moving was to increase efficiency by having all machinery and employees on one floor, leaving behind a three-story mill space in Plainfield.
