FROM THE NEWSROOM: Firefighters responded to a structure fire in Putnam in the early hours of this morning, according to police. The Putnam Police department says that the call for a structure fire came into local dispatch at about 12:25 a.m. this morning. The Putnam Fire Department initially responded to the home at 192 Farrows Street. The East Putnam Fire Department provided mutual aid, police said. No one was home at the time the fire broke out, officials said. It took responders just under an hour to bring the fire under control. No one was injured, police said. The Putnam Fire Marshal is investigating the cause. The owner of record on the property is Dawn Wyatt, according to tax records.
