FROM THE NEWSROOM: HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut woman struck by a cyclist in Central Park has died. Mike Wittman announced the death of his wife, Jill Tarlov, in an email Monday. Wittman, senior vice president of finance at CBS, said she was taken too soon. He thanked those who kept her in their thoughts and prayers. The 59-year-old Tarlov, of Fairfield, was struck Thursday and suffered head trauma. She was a former employee of radio station 1010 WINS. The bicyclist, Jason W. Marshall, said in an emailed statement he is utterly devastated and that the accident was unavoidable. Police say the 31-year-old cyclist remained at the scene. He suffered minor injuries. Anton Guitano, chief operating officer of CBS Local Media, and Peter Dunn, president of CBS Television Stations, said they were heartsick at Tarlovs death.
