FROM THE NEWSROOM: Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman spoke today at the ribbon cutting ceremony for Ellis Techs recently completed expansion and renovation project in Danielson, praising the project as bringing the school facilities into the 21st century, better training students whether they want to pursue higher education or go straight into the workforce after graduation. Principal Dr. Brian Mignault said the nearly $50 million project entails what he roughly estimated as close to 70,000 square feet of new space, and 120,000 square feet of renovated space – that includes new classrooms; a new library; a new gymnasium; updated equipment and materials for all trades; and the addition of the culinary arts trade and its associated kitchen, restaurant and dining facility. State Representative Mae Flexer said she is thrilled to see a project that had been sitting in the books since before she was elected finally come to fruition, noting it was completed about six months before the target date. Principal Mignault praised Flexer and the Governors office, along with State Senate President Pro Tem Don Williams, for their roles in getting this project off the ground.
