FROM THE NEWSROOM: NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A former Milford man who says hes using medical marijuana has been arrested on accusations he operated a drug factory. The New Haven Register reports that Timothy Yankee was arrested Sept. 24 on the drug factory charge and charges of cultivation of marijuana and other drug-related offenses. Hes due in court Wednesday. Consumer Protection Commissioner William Rubenstein and Michael Lawlor, state undersecretary for criminal justice planning and policy, said possession of a one-month supply of marijuana by a registered medical marijuana patient has been legal since 2012. Rubenstein said a one-month supply is defined as 2½ ounces. Yankee is charged with possession of more than 4 ounces. Yankee, who claims amnesty under the medical marijuana law, said he and his wife are registered with the state program to treat illnesses.
