FROM THE NEWSROOM: The Putnam Police Department is investigating a reported home invasion that occurred on Powhattan Street Sunday night. The incident resulted in two people being treated at an area hospital. In a news release this morning, police said that the home invasion occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday night. Upon arrival to what was initially an unknown disturbance, police officers through their initial investigation determined that a “home invasion-type incident” had occurred at the residence. Two parties at the residence were transported to Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam where they received medical treatment for non life threatening injuries and were later released. Police described the perpetrators as a Hispanic male and an African American male, both about 6 feet tall and in their 20s. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and ask that anyone with information about an apparent home invasion on Powhattan Street in Putnam Sunday night call Putnam Police. No arrests have been made at this time.
