FROM THE NEWSROOM: Tonight Brooklyn taxpayers and town officials will convene for the Annual Town Meeting, where a vote will be taken on the next fiscal years budget proposal. The Board of Selectmen has put forward a general government budget of $5.8 million, the school board is asking for $17 million for education, and an $841,600 capital improvement plan has been drawn up; these figures would represent an estimated 0.2 mil increase to the current tax rate, if passed. The meeting will be held at 7 oclock tonight at Brooklyn Middle School.
