FROM THE NEWSROOM: With a goal to improve the look and feel of downtown Danielson, the Killingly town council has approved adding more funding to Main Street Scape Improvement Project by way of the towns Capital Reserve Fund. A resolution adding funds, not to exceed $100,000, was approved at the most recent meeting, and is an effort that has the support of council chairman John Hallbergh. There was some hesitation on the idea, however, from Council member Ed Grandelski, who mentioned that there have been some past instances of additions to the downtown area using town funds, such as benches, that have cost more money later when they were removed. There will be additional plantings placed in the downtown area, and Hallbergh says that the local community garden group has already shown interest in maintaining them. Tune in for the full report.
