FROM THE NEWSROOM: Yesterday, the Democratic nominating convention for Judge of the Northeast Probate Court unanimously chose sitting Probate Judge Leah Schad to run for probate judge in the upcoming general election on Nov. 5th, according to a recent press release. Thompson Democratic Town Committee Chairperson Cathy Thomas stated, Leah will continue to bring her extensive experience to each individual case brought before the Probate Court which serves the towns of Ashford, Brooklyn, Eastford, Pomfret, Putnam, Thompson, and Woodstock. I am impressed by both her record of public service and by the compassion she demonstrates to those who appear before her. She has worked hard to make the district concept work and has a professional and courteous staff who are always willing to assist her constituents. Upon her nomination, Judge Schad said, I appreciate the overwhelming support of the delegates.
