[FROM YG] When is the release date of the latest song of 2NE1? 2NE1’s upcoming new song, “DO YOU LOVE ME,” is produced by TEDDY, YG’s main producer. This new summer song is full of fierceness and excitement that suits the hot season, just like “I Am The Best” released in the summer of 2011. 2NE1 has already completed successfully all the dance practices for the song with a new choreographer from abroad. Yet, there has been a bit of setback for the production of the music video, which was scheduled to be directed by Seo Hyun-seung. This kind of thing is not uncommon in the business. And in most cases, a common decision is to delay the release date for a couple of weeks. However, 2NE1 is planning to release a new song every month so if we postpone this month’s release, there will be evitable delays for the next songs. This will be a major setback for 2NE1’s plan. It is against this backdrop that we have reached the decision to release 2NE1’s second title song, “DO YOU LOVE ME,” on August 7th as scheduled. 2NE1 enjoys higher YouTube viewership among fans around the world compared to many other Korean girl groups. As such, we have decided to create a home video rather than a music video, and 2NE1 will be the one to film with mobile phones and old-fashioned cameras. We believe that this home video style can work as it will show a natural and casual aspect of 2NE1, who has so far showcased several music videos emphasizing their unique fashion styles in gorgeous sets. In order to shoot the film within a short period of time until the release on August 7th, 2NE1 has finished their TV promotion activities for “FALLING IN LOVE” after appearing on the Music Trend (Inkigayo) last week. I hope all of you would understand the situation and will show great support and expectations for the upcoming performance of 2NE1 on August 7th. SEUNGRI releases a new solo album We believe that it is quite surprising and unexpected news that SEUNGRI will release his second mini album on August 19th. This second album made up of six new songs will come about two and a half years later since the release of the first solo album in January 2011. Like what he did for the first album, SEUNGRI has written the music and lyrics of this new album and done the producing. The upcoming album’s title song is “할말 있어요”. The music video of “할말 있어요” a house music song with a speedy but lyrical feel, is directed by Han Sa Min, whose previous works include BIGBANG ‘s “BLUE,” “BAD BOY,” and “MONSTER”. After releasing the new album on August 19th, SEUNGRI will perform actively in Korea until the end of September. Then he will release his solo album in Japan on September 25th to continue his performance there. Following SEUNGRI’s comeback, other BIGBANG members G-Dragon and TAEYANG will also make their comeback with a solo album. G-Dragon and TAEYANG are staying up all night at their studios, putting the finishing touches to each of their new albums. KANG SEUNG YOON’s first title song “WILD AND YOUNG” will be released on July 31st, 2NE1’s brand-new song “DO YOU LOVE ME” on August 7th, and SEUNGRI’s long-awaited solo album in two and a half years on August 19th.
