FRONT DESK REPRESENTATIVE (Temporary Position) 4 month Temporary Position Company Summary CFG is a broad based healthcare provider that is dedicated to increasing access to care via innovative applications of technology like telepsychiatry and virtual environments. In addition to running its own clinics, CFG provides hospital based programs including inpatient psychiatric services, ED evaluations, psychiatric crisis center intervention, medical/surgical floor consults, school-based programs, partial hospitalization programs, residential treatment services and healthcare services for correctional facilities. Position Summary The Front Desk Representative Assists in the day-to-day operations of the reception area. Greets patients; obtains and verifies patient demographics and updates the system accordingly; answers telephones and routes calls in accordance with policy and procedure. Performance Expectations: • Greets all patients and keeps them informed of their appointment status • Establishes and maintains demographics & insurance information and updates the computer systems accordingly. All insurance cards are copied and attached to the inside of the chart cover • Verifies authorizations and updates the patient on usage • Ensures efficient telephone communication and routes calls accordingly • Collects payments and co- payments for all services • Posts charges and payments • Schedules mutually acceptable appointment times for patients and clinicians using computerized scheduling system • Assists clinicians to maintain their schedule • Documents patient inquiries and directs the patient to the appropriate parties if unable to assist them • Reviews charts and accounts prior to visit to ensure that the account is current and that all necessary documentation (i.e. authorizations, lab results, etc.) is available • Ensures that notes needed by the patient (i.e. out of work notes and school excuses) are completed after the clinician authorizes the need of the patient • If additional authorizations are needed for upcoming visits, ensures that the account is forwarded to the appropriate party to obtain the necessary information • Generates end-of-day reports are to verify patient charges, payments and no-shows. Ensures that the reports are complete and correct • Completes deposit and forward them to the appropriate department along with a copy of the end-of-day reports verifying balances • Successfully demonstrates courtesy and helpfulness to patients, clinicians and all other members of the practice • Works as a team member within the department as well as with other departments within the organization Job Requirements: • HS Diploma with minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical facility, preferably at the front desk or in the insurance department. • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills.
