FRUSTRATED. If you want me to help you get a job, understand a few things: #1: I need your resume, dont tell me to go to your LinkedIn. If were talking, Ive already been there. Dont tell me youd rather not give out your phone number, that you prefer employers to reach you by email. Do you want a job or not? #2: I get paid by the company, not the candidate. You do not pay me, so dont tell me Im not doing my job because you are still unemployed. If you have already applied to a company, I cant represent you--they are not going to pay me to find you. If you lie to me about applying, you run the chance of the company throwing your resume out of contention altogether. #3: If I ask a question about your work experience, theres a reason Im asking. Dont throw industry-speak at me and avoid the question. Dont tell me that you know what they are looking for--if you know, why are you talking to me? I need a hug. Or a drink. Or both.
