FULL day today! Jimmys colonoscopy (preceded by the requisite no sleep the night before, cause he was up going to the bathroom all night!) went well. One little polyp snipped earned him a reprieve for 5 years. Poor me. I had to drive the new Toyota Prius for the rest of the day, cause hed had anesthesia. Such a tough existence (hehe!), driving a new car thats a dream compared to my poor old Bessie (a 1998 Mercury Sable, whose transmission was on its last GRRRRR). First, to breakfast at Marietta Diner after the procedure so Better Half could have his first solid food since Wednesday, then rush home and clean house, cause the KIDS were coming over tonight. He thought they were coming just to cook crab legs, shrimp and other low-country stuff for us. Didnt know it was to be a party to recognize his retirement!! After bird food in Jasper, boiled peanuts (required by law AND tummy), Chiro, WalMart, and food delivery for a sweet friend with leukemia, we ran home to finish cleaning and setting up. After all that wondrous food and the grand babies playing Olympic runners in the living room, Trevor presented the real purpose of the evening. He and Emily bought his Daddy an iPad Air for his retirement present!! Ive only known about it since November and didnt spill the beans. Do you have a CLUE as to how hard it was for ME not to tell my Better Half something like THAT? Ive almost let it slip three times in the last week alone, but passed it off as brainless wonder talking and he bought that! Hell be watching closely for the next time that I play dumb cause he knows THATS not normal for me! hehe! All in all, Im bushed, but a happy kind of bushed. Ive accomplished all but 2 things (biggies!) on my to do list for the month, stuff that HAD to be done before Better Half retires from Lockheed on Monday (March 31st) with 33 years and 7 months of service. That pension check will sure look good coming in! Now, if I can just get those 2 things done this weekend, we can go on a MUCH NEEDED and DESERVED vacation, after his retirement party Monday, with a clear mind, knowing Ive done all I can do to further my books and our future! Thank you, Lord for Jimmy Lewis, Tash and Troy White (and Parker and Avery) and Trevor and Emily Lewis! Life is GOOD!
