FUN! UTA is actually responding to my criticism of their executives making more than the executives of the LA, San Francisco, Denver, & Boston systems. According to the UTA PR rep, its totally not fair to compare the two, because UTA executives base pay is much lower than the base pay for the heads of those other cities. My response? Theyre full of crap. Other cities, such as Los Angeles, include all benefits/incentives in the total salary of the head of their transit system. Just because UTA splits up exec pay in base salary + benefits + bonuses doesnt mean hes getting paid less. At the end of the day, hes still paid $352,000.
