FUNDRAISING FOR LOVE: I am involved in fundraising for an organization called ChildrenRescueHome which is a charitable organization aimed at taking parental care of children in India. Alan visited India twice in 2012 and after much interest and some research I committed to fundraise for rental for an orphanage building to house 25 children. The request has now been made and the amount of 5000 Indian rupees per month needs to be paid for the accommodation, which is a priority. This is not even R900 per month. A deposit of one month needs to be paid too, so the initial payment is R1800 (10 000 Indian rupees). This is a huge expense for Indian earners, but Rands converted to rupees, is currently R1 to 5.68 Indian rupee. The organization has not yet gained international transaction status on their bank account and the funds need to be sent via Western union, and in one payment as there is a limit to the number of international payments which can be received monthly in India. The founder of the organization is Nihar Nanda (in the picture below - right, seen with Alan in middle and on second pic, with 3 chidren for whom he has already taken parental care). Nihar lives in India and is in full time ministry and charitable work. He is contactable on facebook or per contact details on or via the following website. You will also find information regarding the mission and intention. childrenrescuehome.wozaonline.co.za/home My request is for assistance to raise the funds by means of the following: 1. CASH DONATIONS which I will transfer via Western Union (Canal Walk) for collection in India (bank dep is fine but will have to be in mine with the reference: India and your name - ABSA account 9040624459 Branch 632005 = The organisations bank account does not yet allow international deposits. 2. UNWANTED ITEMS to raffle or sell 3. SECOND HAND ITEMS OF ANY SORT: clothes, ornaments, cutlery, crockery, linen , any other.......as I will run a flea market table near Sunvalley/Fish Hoek twice a month if I have enough items to exchange for Orphanage rental. Clothing will be a big seller as there is an informal settlement within walking distance of the flea market. My intention is a R10 clothing table so in a way, it is charitable at that level too. I will make my bank statement available for perusal. If anyone who knows Nihar wishes to assist with the fundraising and deposits, etc., please let me know as I would be comfortable with this. I have one person wishing to be involved who does not connect to Nihar R Nanda, who is on facebook and on niharlan@gmail as well as on watsapp. Should you wish to make telephonic contact with Nihar, please inbox me or find him on facebook Nihar R Nanda, or Alan Pedersen in pic below (yellow SA tshirt) - pic taken in India. To date, I have R80 cash and a bag of clothing and a pledge for R50 for 3 months. Someone will collect all items of donation. Please inbox me if you have Junk which will be another mans treasure. In this case a home for children who could be lost to the streets of India. Please copy the following link to your internet browser and view the website, there are also contact details there and information and pics: childrenrescuehome.wozaonline.co.za/home Thanks and regards Patricia
