FYI * Law 12878/13 amends Law 6815 of August 19, 1980 (Foreigners Statute), to establish new discipline to prison for precautionary purposes of extradition. Extradition will be requested through diplomatic channels or as provided by treaty, directly to the Ministry of Justice. The request must be accompanied by precise indications about the location, the date, the nature and circumstances of the criminal offense, the identity of the person claimed, and also a copy of the legal texts on crime, competence, worth and prescription .
