FYI Responses from Veronica Fletcher to my frustrations: Hi Veronica Thanks for your explanation If the council works this way then they need to move to the real world where expectations are much higher. I cannot accept this philosophy and something has to be done to change this culture. Its a big like ordering a sofa but it doesnt arrive. Unless the customer follows up the order is closed and tough luck they get nothing . This is very frustrating and if a factual representation of the way the council works has to have an immediate change. In simple terms are we wasting time I raising issues if they fall into the council hole? Rest assured. I will keep on and on until I get answers to reasonable requests Maybe I should contact someone at a senior level and express the comments you have made which appear typicalof the way the council operates. Personally I dont think at all the council works like this . I know every issue / complaint is logged. There must be a Manager responsible for understanding what is going on in the area for which they are responsible. That individual is accountable for determining the action taken and responding to the person who initially raised the issue . This is where it all fails - no formal system to close out. I cant understand this as Im sure they are audited to comply with ISO standards of some form. Is this a system or individual failure ? I am fed up of not getting responses. It seems I am wasting time raising issues from which as Priorslee residents we should all benefit. Nevertheless I will continue. I dont know what if any authority you have but I would welcome the opportunity to meet with a senior representative at the council and put my concerns across. In all my career I have never found such an unsatisfactory system. If I did it would be changed immediately but of course I am assuming your response is representative of how it works. Can you recommend who I should talk to - not in writing as questions can be avoided. I like to see and feel an emotional no hiding place response. When queries/complaints are raised and an answer given unless there is a follow up to it that query/complaint it is closed. Therefore if some time later a further query/complaint is raised we have to contact the originator of the reply to ask for an further answer. I have asked if there is a programme/schedule of works available for Castlefarm Way as there was much forward planning and contractors involved before any work could be carried out. I am waiting for a response from the officer and 20 working days is allowed for a reply. I dont know the workings in a council so forgive me for being proactive. Having worked in a dynamic industry for many years the expectation is a prompt accurate response without the need for repeat following up of people. Aaron England and Yvonne Hutton are superb with their responses amongst few others who I have complimented on their service but I get nothing from Mark Greaves or some others despite chasing. I appreciate people are busy - perhaps I am expecting too much of them . I have run multinational operations and what counts is attention to detail and there are some who wish it to happen , those who want it to happen and those who MAKE it happen. I am still awaiting a response from TAW about who removed the MUGA temporary plastic path and why it took so long to replace it plus why contractors left exposed bore holes in Teece Drive which would have caused an accident had I not reported it on the emergency number and they were filled that evening. Months have gone by but I wont let it go. There are simple answers somewhere. I appreciate you may find frustration in the tone of my email. Its because I expect better and even so I and others deserve the respect of a response. I await considered responses and somewhere cages will be rattled so individuals understand their responsibilities to respond in a timely manner. I have sent a request to the Highway Engineer, I originally contacted and asked for Castlefarm Way be resurfaced and the work escalated. Further that the noise pollution be monitored. I fully understand what you are suffering as I am in my garden and can hear the noise pollution from the M54. I would assume there are maximum levels of traffic noise permitted near residential areas before action must be taken. Perhaps someone from the Highways Dept should measure the levels ? These were filled very quickly. However I also reported the general condition of Castlefarm Way with areas of broken surface and many ruts. Whilst these are not necessarily a danger to vehicles if you live anywhere near Castlefarm Way when HGVs go over the surface the very loud rattling noise can be heard clearly for some distance. A number of my neighbours have commented and Im sure there are many who would also complain. The noise can be heard throughout the day but you tend to be oblivious to it but at night even with the windows shut it us a nuisance. With windows open in hot weather it prevents sleep. Is there any way you could help to resolve the problem please ? I apologise for keeping approaching you but I know you can get things done !
